1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using King of the Court ("KOTC") services, including registering for tournaments, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Tournament Registration

When registering for KOTC tournaments:

  • You must provide accurate information for all team members
  • Each player must have a unique position on your roster
  • Payment is required to secure your tournament spot
  • Registration does not guarantee tournament participation - spots are first-come, first-served
  • Teams must have a minimum of 2 players and maximum of 5 players

3. Tournament Rules

All participants must adhere to the following rules:

  • Fair Play: No cheating, exploiting, or unsportsmanlike conduct
  • Discord Presence: Team captain must be available in Discord during tournament hours
  • Punctuality: Teams must be ready to play at their scheduled match time
  • Equipment: Players are responsible for their own gaming setup and internet connection
  • Screenshots: Match results must be submitted via screenshot for verification

4. Payment and Refunds

Entry fees and refund policies:

  • All entry fees must be paid before the tournament start time
  • Refunds are available up to 24 hours before the tournament begins
  • No refunds will be issued after the 24-hour cutoff
  • If KOTC cancels a tournament, full refunds will be provided
  • Prize payouts are distributed within 7 days of tournament completion

5. Player Rankings and Statistics

Performance tracking and leaderboards:

  • Player statistics are calculated based on in-game performance
  • Rankings are weighted by position-specific performance metrics
  • Statistics and leaderboards are publicly displayed on our website
  • KOTC reserves the right to adjust scoring algorithms to maintain competitive balance
  • Disputed statistics must be reported within 48 hours of the match

6. Code of Conduct

All participants must maintain respectful behavior:

  • No harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory language
  • No threats or violent behavior
  • Respect opponents, teammates, and KOTC staff
  • Follow Discord server rules and guidelines
  • Violations may result in warnings, suspensions, or permanent bans

7. Disqualification

Teams may be disqualified for:

  • Cheating or exploiting game mechanics
  • Using unauthorized third-party software
  • Failure to appear for scheduled matches
  • Violating the Code of Conduct
  • Providing false information during registration

Disqualified teams forfeit their entry fee and any potential prizes.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on the KOTC website, including logos, designs, and tournament formats, is the property of King of the Court LLC. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.

9. Liability Disclaimer

King of the Court LLC is not liable for:

  • Technical issues, server outages, or game platform problems
  • Internet connectivity issues affecting participants
  • Loss of data or account access on third-party platforms
  • Disputes between participants
  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

10. Tournament Modifications

KOTC reserves the right to modify tournament formats, schedules, rules, and prize structures at any time. Participants will be notified of significant changes via Discord and email.

11. Age Requirements

Participants must be at least 13 years old to compete in KOTC tournaments. Players under 18 must have parental consent to participate and receive prizes.

12. Termination

KOTC reserves the right to terminate or suspend access to our services for any user who violates these Terms of Service, without prior notice or liability.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with applicable law.
